You are always welcome to contact us to learn more about the different ways we work with consultants.

For the experienced specialist who wants to become a freelance consultant — or already is one.

For the experienced specialist who wants to become a consultant, but still values the security of permanent employment. This setup can also serve as a safe way to try out the consultant role.

Permanent junior consultant

HOMATIC’S CONSULTANT BENEFITS

What we offer our freelance consultants

Life as a freelance consultant is about much more than the fee you earn. It’s just as important to create a good framework that supports a sustainable working life. Even though you’re self-employed, you still need flexibility, sparring, new knowledge, and a professional community. At Homatic, we focus on your well-being. We don’t see you as a resource – but as a whole person with ambitions for your life. That’s why we offer our freelance consultants an attractive package that complements their freelance business with a range of benefits that are normally only part of permanent employment. These benefits help our consultants perform at a consistently high level – and make life as a freelance consultant much more enjoyable.

We take care of

Advice and guidance on becoming self-employed.
Easy time tracking and fast payment of your invoices.
Flexibility in relation to your wishes for working conditions.
An "HR partner" who takes responsibility for your well-being.
A professional "buddy" – a link to a consultant "colleague" you can share experiences with and ask for advice.

INPUT TO YOUR DOUBTS

Is freelancing right for me?

As a freelance consultant, you can use your experience and expertise to make a real impact on the development of some of the country’s largest and most successful companies — while earning an attractive fee. Yet even though the freelance life is tempting, it can be a big step to say goodbye to a permanent position and a fixed salary. We speak with many specialists who are considering the consultant path — and they often share the same questions and concerns. That’s why we’ve gathered them here, along with our answers, in the hope of helping you make your decision.

Of course, there are a number of practical matters you need to handle as a self-employed consultant. You’ll need to do your accounting, send invoices, pay VAT, and so on. You also have to finance your own holidays, sick days, and any periods without a project. In addition, it’s up to you to contribute to your pension scheme. At Homatic, we’re happy to support you with advice and guidance — and we’ll also give you a “buddy,” meaning an experienced consultant you can spar with and turn to for advice.

As a freelance consultant, there may of course be periods when no project is immediately available. However, we usually see the opposite — demand for our consultants is so high that we sometimes have to turn down assignments because everyone is already engaged in projects. Still, uncertainty is part of the freelance life, and you need to be comfortable with it in order to thrive. That’s why freelancing isn’t for everyone. For the same reason, we also offer new consultants permanent employment as a safer, more secure way to transition into the consultant role.

We work with many large companies that have a wide range of exciting projects. But in the freelance world, everything is a matter of timing — and there are no guarantees. At Homatic, we work hard to find the right match for you and your skills. We also start a proactive dialogue with you well before your current project ends, giving us the best chance to make sure your next assignment matches your ambitions and preferences. Discover how we work with you

There is a clear expectation that you deliver on projects and, through your experience and expertise, create tangible value. But no one benefits if you burn out. That’s why we stay in close dialogue with both you and the company about how the project is progressing — and if challenges arise, we address them before they become problems. If you have specific requests for your working hours — such as a four-day week — we are happy to include them in the dialogue about a given assignment.

At Homatic, you can expect a fair hourly rate that reflects factors such as your level of experience, the duration of the assignment, and any special conditions or requirements that may justify an adjustment from the market rate.

On the contrary. Our consultants are often involved in long-term projects. This means they usually feel like part of the workplace and consider the company’s permanent employees their colleagues. In most cases, you’ll also be invited to join the company’s social events. This gives you plenty of opportunities to enjoy both professional and social connection.

WORKING WITH FREELANCE CONSULTANTS

How we help your career along the way

As an experienced freelance consultant, you’re often busy doing what you do best — delivering results. With Homatic as your partner, you can stay focused while we find your next project. We explore opportunities across the market and help you shape your career in the direction you want. Our process is built to ensure the best possible match — and to help you thrive in your professional life.

1
Career direction
We explore your experience and areas of expertise — and talk about your goals and ambitions for your professional life. Which fields would you like to work in? What kind of role do you see yourself in? Are there personal factors to consider — perhaps a preference for a four-day work week? We respect your wishes and make sure they are part of our dialogue with the companies we work with.
1
2
Profile pitch and conversation
We take a proactive approach to finding the right opportunities for you. We reach out to our partners and other companies looking for profiles with your competencies and present your profile to them. You’ll also be part of the candidate pool for our clients’ open projects when there’s a relevant match. If we believe you’re the right fit, we’ll forward your CV to the company. They will typically invite you for an interview to assess the match — and if both sides agree, we’ll establish the contract with you and the client, and the project can begin.
2
3
Project execution and invoicing
You complete the agreed assignments at the company and register your hours in our easy-to-use system. We’ve kept the process simple, so you don’t waste time on administration. Each month, we handle the invoicing to the company on your behalf. You send us your own invoice — and we make sure it’s paid quickly, because we don’t believe long payment terms are fair to independent consultants.
3
4
Ongoing dialogue
We check in with you once or twice a month throughout the project. How are things going? Are there any challenges? Do you feel comfortable with the tasks? Is there anything we can do to help you deliver your best work? We also stay in close dialogue with the company. This ongoing communication helps us prevent misunderstandings and address challenges before they turn into problems.
4
5
Completion and evaluation
As your project approaches completion, we talk with you in good time about what comes next. Is there a possibility of extending the collaboration with the company? Do you have any wishes for your next assignment? By planning ahead, we can make sure new and exciting opportunities are ready for you when the current project ends.
